We have been able to send £2000 for seedlings for the Sisters farm at Kulangulukila in response to a plea from Sister Rosemary. Mike Brozel and I had suggested that seeds were much cheaper and were unsure about the project. Ignorance is bliss!!! Sister Rosemary responded to ...................
Andy Perry of Soroptimist St. Helens has has used all her friends, contacts and family to mastermind a massive donation of surgical instruments and other surgical supplies to the Operating Theatre we built at Lubwe Mission Hospital.
10th Perthshire Beavers have raised a fantastic £331 towards a new Clean Water Well in the Lubwe area. This together with the 10th Perthshire Scouts contributed £386 towards a new well which will be dug this Summer providing water for life for yet another community in the area.
Virgilio at the Skills Centre tells us a bit about Christmas in Lubwe: Christmas is the biggest annual event for the people of Lubwe. Most people start preparing for Christmas as early as late November, and their main activity is trying to raise enough Kwacha if they can.........
Simon Konecki of Life Water and founding Trustee of drop4drop is, with immediate effect, supporting Lubwe Zambia Fund in the provision of more clean water wells in Zambia, starting with seven more wells in Lubwe itself.
Jerika Hartley has sent some fantastic pictures of village life, after a trip with fellow Dayton, Ohio University students, to Lubwe in the summer. A Dayton University group has come for a number of years to bring much needed help. See the Photos tab above.
